This book is for students in their third year pursuing Chinese as their major. It is for those who are relatively proficient in Chinese language (about 5,000 commonly-used words).

This book's primary content is about the livings and customs of the Chinese people. It helps foreign students improve their understanding toward Chinese folk customs, and promote Chinese language learning as well as cultural exchange. It has 11 chapters and its first one is elaborates on the definition of folk customs, and the basic characteristic of the Chinese people customs. From chapter 2 through 6, it introduces the basic necessities of life and traditional business folk customs; chapter 7-10 on etiquette of life and traditional festivals, folk believes and languages. The last chapters is about the folks customs formed the society. It has pondering questions and reference reading books attached.
